Privacy Policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
This policy explains what MoreOften collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It covers the MoreOften app and moreoften.app.
What we collect
- Account details from Google or Apple when you sign in: your name, email address and profile photo. Sign in with Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real email.
- What you add to your profile: a username, a profile picture, your dietary restrictions, cuisine and vibe preferences, and a Venmo username if you choose to add one.
- Group activity: the groups you create or join, who is in them, your availability, your votes and ratings, places you save, any private notes you write, and the messages you send in group chat.
- Group photos you upload.
- Your approximate location, only while you use the Discover tab and only if you allow it, to find restaurants near you. We use it for the search and do not store it on your profile.
- A push notification token for your device, so we can send you notifications.
- Basic technical records our hosting providers keep, such as IP address and request logs.
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell your information.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, show your groups, and deliver messages and notifications.
- To let Mo plan: Mo suggests places using the dietary needs and preferences of the people in the group. Mo’s picks are chosen by fixed rules, not by a model reading your data.
- To keep the service safe: preventing abuse, fixing bugs and protecting accounts. When you report a message or block someone, we receive a copy of the message, who sent it and who reported it, so we can review it. The person you report or block is not told.
Who can see what
Other members of a group can see your name, photo, availability, votes, ratings and chat messages in that group. Your dietary restrictions are used to match places for the group. Private notes are visible only to you. Someone with an invite link sees only the group’s name, how many members it has, how often it meets and where. People who are not in your group cannot see your messages or activity.
Services we use
We rely on a small number of providers to run MoreOften, and they process data for us:
- Supabase, for our database, sign-in, file storage and server functions.
- Google, for sign-in, and for Google Maps and Places, which receive your search terms and, for nearby search, your approximate location. Restaurant photos and details come from Google Places.
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple and iPhone push notifications.
- Expo, for delivering push notifications.
- Google’s Gemini, which describes restaurants, for example which dietary needs a menu can serve. It is sent restaurant names, addresses and descriptions only. It is not sent your name, messages or any information about you.
- Cloudflare, which hosts moreoften.app and forwards our email.
- Resend, which delivers the emails that tell us about reports.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. Messages and activity stay with the group they belong to.
Your choices
- Edit your profile, dietary needs and preferences in the app at any time.
- Turn off notifications or location in your phone’s settings.
- To delete your account and personal data, open Profile in the app and tap Delete account at the bottom, then confirm. It takes effect immediately. You can also ask by email; see /delete-account for what is removed and what is not.
- To ask what we hold about you, or to correct it, email the same address.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as access, correction, deletion and objection. We honor these requests for everyone.
Children
MoreOften is not for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and our database enforces who can read what. No service is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. We will update this policy before MoreOften starts collecting anything new.
